HTC Desire P

Remember the HTC Desire P and Desire Q, two upcoming mid-range smartphones from the Taiwanese smartphone-maker which leaked last week in promo photos? Well, one of the two smartphones, the HTC Desire P has now been officially announced in Taiwan. Priced at 10900 New Taiwan Dollars which roughly translates to about Rs.19,800 in India.

Quick Specifications of HTC Desire P

  • 1GHz dual-core processor, 768MB RAM
  • 4.3-inch Super LCD2 WVGA display
  • 4GB internal storage, micro-SD card slot
  • 8 megapixel primary camera
  • 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS
  • 1,650mAh battery
Coming on to the specifications of the HTC Desire P, the smartphone sports a 4.3-inch SuperLCD2 display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The Desire P is powered by 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm  MSM8225 CPU paired with 768MB of RAM and Adreno 203 GPU. The smartphone gets 4GB of on-board storage, which can further be expanded using a micro-SD card slot.
The HTC Desire P features an 8 megapixel camera at the back and also comes with Beats Audio to enhance the audio capabilities of the smartphone. Strangely, though the smartphone did appear of HTC Taiwan’s website  but there is no word on which version of Android will the HTC Desire P run on, but it is expected that the HTC Desire P would be running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Connectivity options of the HTC Desire P include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS and the smartphone also houses a 1,650mAh battery which we doubt would be enough to last through a full day’s usage.
The smartphone is headed only towards Taiwan at present and there is no official word on it’s availability in other markets, but we hope that the HTC Desire P makes it’s way to other emerging markets like India and China as well.
