Google Play 4.0

Most of you might already be aware that the Google Play 4.0 is officially released for download. It is supported by Android 2.2 Froyo and above, that means the Samsung Galaxy Y is on the list.

Basically you need to download the apk file and install it just like you install any app.
Download APK - Click here.

The update consists of a major re-design on how apps are listed and a few color changes here and there.
Now I'm not sure if it's just me, but the homescreen of the app, the screen where you would see a lot of featured apps with big banners showing up seems to be gone. I am being redirected immediatelly to the Apps tab, but that may be because the update hasn't been rolled out completely to every country, which means you may experience some weird situations, so we'll just have to wait and see if any changes will come by themselves.

I have also noticed a new option showing up in the context menu when you press the menu button called "Auto-update" which is for enabling/disabling automatic updating of your installed apps. There may be way more changes that are not visible to the eye.

Thanks to AndroidPolice for the download link.
